HOW MANY POINTS ARE AWARDED? Each coordinator's UIL handbook will contain the number of points to be awarded for each contest - generally 55 total points for each individual event. In UIL contests, 15 points are generally awarded for 1st, 12 for 2nd, 10 for 3rd, 8 for 4th, 6 for 5th, and 4 for 6th with points being split for ties. Points are entered manually and may contain decimals.
